first off my name is Kenneth Marshall Pixley, i drive a 1973 el camino that is on its way to being a true hot rod. i have always loved racing and now that i am in wichita falls for college i have a track close by and i love it. but im curious if anyone happens to know anything bout the history of the track, like previous owners and specifically who made the track originally, who did the pavement at least the first time is something i really really am curious about, reason being my grandfather did the pavement on a racetrack around these parts and i just think it would be very very cool to be able to go to a track that my grandfather paved.

KP, I knew your grandfather from when he paved the Altus and Wichita Falls asphalt circle tracks. He was in pretty tight with the Speer boys up in Altus and I know he did the finish and pave work on both of those tracks. Before DR bought the drag strip here in WF, the last time the drag strip was paved with asphalt, was by a couple of guys from down at Mineral Wells that had bought the track and re-paved it, 4400 ft. long and (I think) 70 ft. wide. Was the Division 4 track of the year in 1965 or so. I think I am correct in these comments, been a day or two back.
