Here's what we are going to do on the JRDL Challenge there will be 3 classes 8-9 yr old...12.90 & slower 10-12 yr old...8.90 & slower 13 & up...7.90 & slower Each age group will run for a JDRL Wally ;D for the winner and WRP Trophy for the r/up and separate payouts! All entry's and payouts will be the normal WRP and we will run our time trials together like always but we will run the age groups separate during eliminations for the Challenge. Hope i haven't confused everyone Thanks and Happy Racing..."Bee" and Sharon

I'm wasn't confused but now I am ! I suppose this will not be a points race? We dont care if it is not a points race I just dont think the classes will be equal so they have the opportunity to earn the same amount of points in each class. ;D

jr challenges race aren't/weren't supposed to be points races for that very reason. i had that discussion with andy year before last. they aren't points races at any track that i am aware of. but i could be wrong. to be fair you would have to cap the points based on the smallest class.

07,08 and 09 were all points races. In 08 there was some confusion about it so Andy went back and removed the points for that race. Since we apparently caused some confusion on this again this year i will agree to do the same and make it a non- points race for the Jr's. We only had the best interest of the kids at heart when we split the classes thinking how nice it would be for the younger kids to run for their own Wally. We don't want any kid [or anyone else for that matter] to ever think that we would intentionally do anything to not be fair and impartial for them.
Thank you "Bee" and Sharon

09 was a points race? didn't know that. it got rained out with 4 cars left didnt it? was that the one the winner was decided by drawing cards cause it rained again? so were points awarded by luck of the card draw also? i knew 08 wasn't. don't remember on 07 but didnt think it was. if it is a one class race, there is nothing wrong with it being a points race. just when you split them up it doesn't work out. i guess the confusion comes from inconsistancy? personally, i like the split classes for it. it balances the playing field. just my .02.

Go to the second page and look at the flyer from 09 it says it was a points race. Now as far as how the points were distributed after the rainout i have no idea i wasn't involved with keeping the points and still ain't. I already agreed to make it a non-points race for the Jr's. i don't know what else you think i should do? Do you really think that our 8 & 9 yr old really want to race against the older kids for 1 wally? I am sorry that this has caused such a turmoil when all we thought we were doing was taking care of the kids! We believe that these kids that race Jr's are not only the future of our track but the future of drag racing as a whole and any decision we made for them stems from those thoughts.
Sorry "Bee" and Sharon

i am just saying i like the idea of multi classes for multi trophies. douglas would not have won his first race/challenge had it not been for split classes that year. or the other one he got the same year @ kennedale had it not been split up. in my opinion it should have been done like this every year. but that is MY opinion and hasn't been every one elses. more trophies avail makes it more fun for the kids. the smaller the kid, the more they enjoy the trophy! i'm bummed we won't be there since the kids are at their grandparents. will be the last wknd of june b4 we get to race again.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D WE are gonna be there regardless of points or number of classes ! The more WALLY's the better in my opinion! All the years (since 2005) that we have been jr racing ,things have not always been the same year to year for the jrs.(split classes weekly)But we have been there almost every time the track has been open, and will continue to support the jr program.WRP has one of the best weekly jr programs out there ! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
