Since the bracket finals for IHRA is in Shreveport, would you guys rather go NHRA because NHRA finals are closer for us.
Not looking for heated debates on this, we just want your honest opinion on this matter. Thanks for your time!!

Lived in Shreveport for 3yrs and it historically rains a lot during Sept and Oct. Last time they ran the finals at the former Red River Raceway it got rained out we wound up racing on a Monday. IHRA didn't impress me at Dallas Raceway this yr either.
Go back to NHRA.

During the track meeting at Dallas the tracks voted for (IN my opinion Shreveport, cause rumor Dallas was not going to be there next year. If Dallas is going to be here this year, I think the tracks need to vote again, and stay I.H.R.A. I agree with Grider, on the rain.

not wanting to get into a pissin match either but remember nhra is 1/4 mile this year and all those fast dragster drivers [7.50 or quicker] will be required to have adv.ET license and tags, a -15 suit and a Hans device (anyone else remember 2 yrs ago?). Also i don't think anyone at nhra would've cared about us being parked out in the pasture and worked as hard as Frank did to get us moved into some decent parking. Admittedly we had some issues at Dallas raceway but i believe those were created by Dallas raceway not IHRA, this is just my opinion and since we will have 3 cars racing next year i feel i can voice my opinion this time.

if we go to shreveport we park up front on concrete,if yall go to ennis yall park in the dirt.the price for us to go to ennis is way too much for just the bracket finals zak and i would have to shell out $3400 just for hans and -15 suits.

I would rather drive the extra 100 miles and race eighth mile and not going to the Plex is a plus.

Id rather race both. My throttle stop works just fine on the 1/4 and I dont need a hans. Got the suit already.

I remember finishing the bracket finals several occasions on Mondays at Ennis, so to me that doesn't matter, and in my opinion IHRA seems to be more accommodating to the racers!

Ok. IHRA or NHRA.
Now i think we learned last year that IHRA is not as friendly as some have said. Is NHRA mean?
Ok so IHRA has a gamblers race Friday and that is a good thing, NHRA does not.
IHRA has two bracket final champions, two race of champions winners..
NHRA has five champions ( super pro,pro,no/e,no/e street, and motorcycle), two race of champions winners, and a high school champion.
IHRA champions are done after the IHRA bracket finals.
NHRA Champions ( four of them) go to Pomona, get $3,500.00 when they arrive and they get a chance to run for a National title and $5,000.00 ( with only 7 cars in each class).
NHRA local "Wally" races have racers show up from out of town to race for the "Wally". Does not seem anyone travels for a IHRA plastic ironman..
Now it does not make a hill of beans to me if the track is IHRA/NHRA or nothing at all. I am going to race no matter what..
The bracket finals is only one race a year, Ennis is a lot closer ( ecspecially with the price of fuel) then Shreveport..How many cars from here even go to the bracket finals? ( 18-25?)
Now what if hypothetically speaking, The NHRA bracket finals had a gamblers race Friday? maybe one time trial and get after it? Maybe they do not have the games but instead have a gamblers race? What if it was 1/8th mile and NOT 1/4? Then there would be no need to have to have a Hans device or the thick suit!
So i am off my soapbox now.I know that is a lot of questions above but i am curious. any comments?
Randy
