Summer hours will start in July ( July 7th)...Not exactly sure yet on what the times/time trial situation will be but what i do know is that i am not interested at getting done at 2-3am when we only have 20 cars in s/p, 22 in no/e and etc. That puts me at 4-5 am when i get home....We start at 3pm now and i think we do a pretty good job at getting cars down the track and we seem to get done around 11pm..So with that being said if we started three hours later that puts us at 2am with no problems ( oil downs and etc).. Some might suggest one time trial and go which is fine with me, but i know most racers want two time trials. I do not like the heat anymore then anyone, i am outside and standing in the heat from start to finish.... We will come up with something creative or we can just close during the hot part of the summer.

It takes about a hour and a half to run a session of time trials with no issues..Takes about a minute to a minute and 30 seconds on average to run a pair down the track..Not counting the time in between it takes getting the cars to the lanes.. S/p quick needs to have there own session ( to qualify), or could possibly run all of s/p in qualifying mode and just hand pick out who bought a quick tech card.
If there was a open session we know some would just go straight back to the lanes and get a few runs while others that need to cool down before there next run,but the bottom line is that in a hour you are only going to get one run if everyone was in lanes at the same time.....So if we decided open time trials for one hour then stop time trials and race there will be some racers that only got one ( being we stopped time trials and went into eliminations).
Maybe we could just do one session of time trials and go straight into eliminations? I know that contradicts what i said earlier about most racers wanting two time trials but it makes no difference to me although i do try to do what i think is best for most racers.

If were throwing around ideas heres one, since you are there on friday nites why not run jr's and street then, when we ran jr's we never ran with the big cars and it worked out ok, on sat nites when you call a class to staging lanes give them a certain amount of time to be there, when you draw that first pair close staging lanes, if they didnt make it they want screw around next time !!

Are both quicks all run? If so why do they need their own time trial sessions?

I still think you could run quick time trial with regular class and then just pull the quickest 8-16 out of that runs sheets.

Yes we could do that..the only reason we do not is sometimes there is the chance of two people driving the same car ( one drives it in quick and the other drives it in super pro)...Its very rare though but it does happen... The bottom line is that if a racer is in two classes they should only make two time trials total yet some feel they need to make 3-4 time trials.....I went through that at the track i managed for three years where we had bigger car counts and a curfew... We will figure something out...I am not real excited about being at the track till 2-3am with small car counts...( keeping those lights on is very expensive).
How about we make time trials from 8 am-10am then we go home and come back at 6pm and race haha.. ( i was kidding)..]
When we start the summer hours we will enforce only two time trials per car...That would probably save us a 45 minutes to a hour.

I would go for starting time runs at 5 pm and eliminating the 2 quick time run sessions forever.
SP quick could qualify in their TT session and if 2 drivers are in 1 car allow both to make a time run in the last session or have them cool down and make a pass in the last NO-E session so the second driver gets at least 1 time run.
